We are an Anglican church without a parish. Begun as an initiative from the Bishop of Chichester, to be a "fresh expression" in Brighton, we have started an authentic Bible teaching church that aims to spread the gospel in a fresh way. If you're a Christian already, and looking for a church in Brighton to serve in, we'd be delighted to welcome you to Christ Church, Brighton. Although we have started a church that is certainly not traditional, we are however whole heartedly a Bible teaching and following church. and as such we follow these ideas...
- 1. We are a Christian Church
- We believe in one God who has revealed himself supremely through his Son, the Lord Jesus. To know God the Father, we must put our trust in his Son and his death for our sins. The chief work of God the Holy Spirit is to draw people to faith in Christ and equip his servants for works of service.
Within this, we always make sure that our meetings are accessible for people of all faiths and none. We genuinely seek to be a church for those who don’t go to church.
- 2. We are an Evangelical Church
- We believe that the Bible is God’s word and is therefore our authority in all matters of faith and conduct. Click here for our basis of faith which expresses much of what we believe. In all our activities we seek to listen to and obey God’s word in the Bible. We also aim to proclaim the Bible’s wonderful message of salvation and forgiveness of sins through Christ to as many people as possible. We are humble in our commitment to the truth of the Bible, and not afraid to discuss this openly with others. We have a policy of “ask what you want, say what you like, but let’s respect each other” in our meetings.
- 3. We are an Anglican Church
- We stand in the tradition of the Anglican Reformers of the 16th Century, affirming with them the great truths which were rediscovered at the time of the Reformation, such as the sovereignty of God in salvation, justification by faith alone, and salvation in Christ alone. All Christians from any denomination are warmly welcome to unite under Christ.

- Our aim as a Church is to: "Cast intriguing and accessible Gospel lifelines into the diversity of Brighton from a growing Jesus centered community".
-
- We also have five visions and values which expand on our aim. They are:
- 1. To be Jesus centred.
- 2. To be a grace filled community.
- 3. To learn and mature together.
- 4. To be woven into Brighton
- 5. To spread and send each other.

- You can find ten talks on these visions and values on our talks page
